Our Story

BrightLight Theatre & Events was founded in 2022 by Pete Coxhead after several years of freelancing in theatre lighting, sound, and production design since 2015. With demand growing, Pete developed BrightLight into a company offering both theatre and events services across the West Midlands and beyond.
Bringing over a decade of professional experience to
BrightLight: Theatre, Including roles as Technical Specialist Instructor at the University of Worcester, Deputy Chief Electrician at Malvern Theatres, and freelance lighting designer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His work combines technical expertise, creative vision, and a passion for making backstage theatre
accessible to all.
Theatre is only half the story. During lockdown, Pete began hosting weekly Zoom quizzes for friends and family, which grew into live pub quizzes, race nights, discos, bingo, and wedding game hire. This natural evolution created BrightLight: Events — fun,
interactive entertainment tailored for all kinds of celebrations.
Now, through BrightLight: Education, Pete is bringing together his professional and teaching experience to deliver
curriculum-linked workshops, inspiring the next generation of theatre-makers.
